Mineworx pilot plant optimization underway
EDMONTON, Alta., May 03, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Mineworx Technologies Ltd., (the “Company” or “mineworx“) (TSXV: MWX) (OTCQB: MWXRF) (FSE: YRS WKN: A2DSW3) is pleased to announce that the company has completed all initial system checks and procedures for its catalytic converter pilot plant in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Water testing protocols throughout the system were completed while checking for system leaks and areas of weakness in pipes and fittings. All new components are performing to specifications and all safety and operational protocols are in place.
Different types, quantities and qualities of raw materials for catalytic converters, as well as the mixture of these materials, will be treated during the current trial periods. The goal is to accumulate real-time data from continuous smaller-scale and larger-scale production runs. The main objective is to fully understand 3 areas that are crucial in determining the final design of the commercial plant.
The first area deals with the wide range of solutions and analyzes how different catalytic converter feedstocks and the mixing of these materials affect various factors such as soaking, leaching, reaction of reactant concentrates, etc. The varied data collected from these procedures will allow the Company to maximize system efficiency during commercial production operations.
The second domain is the equipment performance and analysis of the durability, portability and functionality of the whole system from the data derived from the first domain. This includes evaluating the longevity of system components by considering chemistry, abrasion, heat and other factors in selecting the optimum liner materials, pumps, hoses and fittings for achieve maximum performance.
The third area is to identify the bottlenecks in the system as well as the options available to remove or minimize the problems. Compilation of the above information will result in the final commercial plant design and selection of equipment to achieve a minimum production of 10 tons per day with the efficiency, recoverability and durability needed to produce the projected savings of the installation over a long period of time.
Mineworx is positioned for growth in the catalytic converter industry through the development and commercialization of its environmentally friendly processing technologies for the recovery of precious metals. The initial focus is the extraction of platinum and palladium from diesel catalytic converters with partner Davis Recycling Inc. For more information visit www.mineworx.net
